Meet Our Eye Doctors

Dr. Martin Falke, Eye Doctor

Dr. Falke graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry in 1978 and has been practicing at Queensway Optometric Centre ever since. With certification in therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and experience as a clinical supervisor, he’s an active member of both the Ontario and Canadian Associations of Optometry. 

Dr. Falke has contributed to advisory panels and clinical trials and has a special interest in contact lenses and sports vision. He provided assessments at the 1994 Winter Olympics and currently serves as a team optometrist for the Toronto Argonauts. He co-manages laser vision correction with TLC Laser Centre and collaborates closely with local ophthalmologists and family physicians.

Dr. Joseph Chan, Eye Doctor

Dr. Chan is a graduate of the Doctor of Optometry program at the University of Waterloo, with additional qualifications in therapeutic pharmaceutical agents and the management of ocular diseases. He also holds an MBA from York University. Since joining Queensway Optometric Centre, he has provided comprehensive eye care with a special interest in diabetic eye health, ocular disease, children’s vision, and contact lenses.

A dedicated advocate for the profession, Dr. Chan has served as President of both the Vision Institute of Canada and the Ontario Association of Optometrists, and has shared his expertise through speaking engagements and media appearances. Outside the clinic, he’s a passionate traveller, snowboarder, and photographer, with visits to all seven continents, including Antarctica.

Dr. Lareina Yeung, Eye Doctor

Dr. Yeung earned both her Honours Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the University of Waterloo in 2003 and has been a valued member of the Queensway Optometric Centre team ever since. She has held leadership roles in the Ontario Association of Optometrists, including Vice President, and was recognized with the OAO President’s Award for her contributions to the profession.

Passionate about children’s eye health, Dr. Yeung played a key role in launching Ontario’s “Eye See, Eye Learn” program and is especially interested in myopia control. She also provides care in areas like contact lenses, laser surgery co-management, and ocular disease management, and is certified to prescribe therapeutic pharmaceuticals.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Yeung has brought eye care to underserved communities through missions in countries such as Jamaica, Morocco, and Ecuador. She enjoys yoga, salsa dancing, and spending time with her family, and can also speak Cantonese.

Dr. Karen Stafford, Eye Doctor

Dr. Stafford earned her Doctor of Optometry and Honours Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Waterloo in 2008. She joined Queensway Optometric Centre in 2010, after completing an ocular disease internship and working at Bramalea Optometric Clinic. Dr. Stafford provides comprehensive eye care for all ages, with special interests in laser vision correction and children’s eye health. She’s actively involved in the Eye See, Eye Learn program, promoting early eye exams for junior kindergarten students. 

Outside the office, Dr. Stafford enjoys travelling, sports, and spending time with her husband and 2 daughters.

Dr. Mirana Ranieri, Eye Doctor

Dr. Ranieri holds a B.Sc. from Yale University and earned her Doctor of Optometry with Honours from Nova Southeastern University in 2016. Originally from Waterloo, she has been proudly serving the Mississauga community at Queensway Optometric Centre since 2016.

She provides comprehensive eye care for all ages, with special interests in dry eye management, ocular disease, contact lenses, and pediatric care. Dr. Ranieri also volunteers with the Eye See, Eye Learn Program, promoting early eye exams for children.

Before becoming an optometrist, she was a professional squash player, winning national titles and earning three medals—including team gold—at the 2008 Pan American Games. Outside the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her family, travelling, swimming, and cycling.

Dr. Lawrence Chan, Eye Doctor

Dr. Chan earned his Doctor of Optometry with high distinction from the Michigan College of Optometry after completing his Bachelor of Science at Western University. He completed clinical externships across Michigan, gaining experience in managing ocular diseases, providing comprehensive eye care, and fitting contact lenses. Licensed in both Ontario and Michigan, Dr. Chan provides eye exams for patients of all ages, with special interests in contact lenses and ocular health. 

Outside the clinic, he enjoys playing tennis and basketball and is proud to be part of the Queensway Optometric Centre team.

Dr. Mehtab Mann, Eye Doctor

Dr. Mehtab Mann brings over a decade of experience in optometry, with a strong background in both international and Canadian training. She enjoys caring for patients of all ages and has a special interest in working with children, contact lenses, and ocular disease. After several years in private practice in Barrie, she’s excited to join the Queensway Optometric team and settle in Mississauga. 

Outside the clinic, Dr. Mann loves hiking, cooking, and spending time with her husband, two young sons, and their German shepherd, Bullet.

Adults should have a comprehensive eye exam every 1 to 2 years, depending on their age, risk factors, and whether they wear glasses or contact lenses. Children and seniors may require more frequent visits.
